Largo
Bay Sailing Club is a dinghy racing club on the south coast of
Fife
less than an hour from Edinburgh and Perth. The bay is sheltered,
little
affected by the tides and is reckoned to be one of the best sailing
areas
in Scotland. We have handicap racing on Sundays from March to October
with
an additional race on Wednesday evenings from May to the beginning of
September.
There
is an Open Regatta, usually in June, a Closed Regatta in August and
five
other trophy races which, along with the Series races, makes some 90
races
per season.
A
couple of years ago we opened an extension to the clubhouse giving us
bigger
changing rooms and increasing the number of showers threefold. A state
of the art gas boiler has been installed to ensure these showers
can run hot forever! We have an active junior training section
using
the club Laser Picos and are currently developing an adult training
facility
using Laser 2000s that we hope will bring sailors back into the sport. |
