Sail Training 2008

Training Weekends
Alistair Reid, the Vice Commodore, is once again in charge of training this year: Ewan Sneddon, a club member and sailing instructor from Port Edgar is going to be the club Principal. The method adopted last year  of two training weekends was a great improvement with the trainees getting quite an impressive level of competence in a relatively short time. This year the Open Day has been moved forward to Saturday May 17th to get early interest. The Trophy race for the trainees is the Daniel Cup and will be held in August.
The two weekends are:-
Saturday May 31st and Sunday June 1st
Saturday and Sunday June 14th and 15th
The Daniel Cup will be Sunday August 17th.

Training takes place in the safety of Largo Bay in front of the Club's recently ungraded club house which has excellent facilities. Spacious changing rooms, hot showers and refreshments are available as well as areas where interested parents and friends can view the action.
Instruction is by RYA qualified instructors and full safety cover is provided on the water.

Powerboat courses will also be run throughout the year: - RYA level 2 and Safety Boat using the Club's powerboats. If you want instruction on your own powerboat that may well be possible also.
